It’s Monday. Tomorrow will be Tuesday, and so on down the days of the week until Saturday. Sunday we start again. It’s nearly the end of June, so we’ll soon progress to another new month, and so on, and so on until once again we reach December. It’s the way of time to continue on its structured path.
I like structure. But I find myself wishing to throw off the constraints of time, the endless sense of it overlaying our lives, a sort of invisible template that dictates our lives. I want time to be an endless ocean that I interact with but manage in my own way.
I find time changes when I write. Deep in creativity and the lives of my characters and their worlds, I enjoy the way time falls away. Sitting at my computer at 7:30 in the morning writing, it quite easily and hardly with notice becomes 1 in the afternoon. That is a very pleasant, unrestricted spacious feeling, like my image of time as an ocean.
So for your pleasure and mine, though I can’t travel to Brazil to experience the magnitude of Devil’s Throat National Park, I can visit via Google. This awesome natural endless beauty is something to experience, even if only through the screen on my laptop.
Enjoy! Devil’s Throat
